Hibiscus Tea Strawberry-Lemonade Refresher

  • Author: Jake
  • Total Time: 17 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Description

A bold, tangy, and naturally sweet refresher made with hibiscus tea, fresh strawberry purée, and lemon juice. Caffeine-free, antioxidant-rich, and perfect for summer sipping.

Ingredients

  • 2 hibiscus tea bags or 2 tbsp dried hibiscus flowers
  • ½ cup fresh strawberries (or thawed frozen strawberries)
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • 23 tbsp maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1½ cups hot water
  • Ice, for serving
  • Optional garnish: lemon slices, strawberry slices, mint sprigs

Instructions

  1. Steep the hibiscus – In a heatproof cup or pitcher, pour 1½ cups of hot water over hibiscus tea bags or dried flowers. Let it steep for 5–7 minutes (up to 10 for stronger flavor). Set aside to cool.
  2. Make the strawberry puree – In a blender, blend strawberries until smooth. For a smoother texture, you can strain the puree using a mesh sieve.
  3. Mix it up – In a large pitcher, combine the cooled hibiscus tea, strawberry puree, lemon juice, and maple syrup. Stir it all together and taste. Want more tartness? Add lemon. Sweeter? Add more maple syrup.
  4. Serve – Fill glasses with ice, pour in the refresher, and garnish with lemon slices, strawberries, or mint.

Notes

Want bubbles? Top with sparkling water just before serving. Make it a strawberry hibiscus cocktail by adding a shot of vodka or gin. Keeps fresh in the fridge for 2–3 days. Just shake or stir before serving.
