Description
A bold, tangy, and naturally sweet refresher made with hibiscus tea, fresh strawberry purée, and lemon juice. Caffeine-free, antioxidant-rich, and perfect for summer sipping.
Ingredients
- 2 hibiscus tea bags or 2 tbsp dried hibiscus flowers
- ½ cup fresh strawberries (or thawed frozen strawberries)
- ¼ cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
- 2–3 tbsp maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1½ cups hot water
- Ice, for serving
- Optional garnish: lemon slices, strawberry slices, mint sprigs
Instructions
- Steep the hibiscus – In a heatproof cup or pitcher, pour 1½ cups of hot water over hibiscus tea bags or dried flowers. Let it steep for 5–7 minutes (up to 10 for stronger flavor). Set aside to cool.
- Make the strawberry puree – In a blender, blend strawberries until smooth. For a smoother texture, you can strain the puree using a mesh sieve.
- Mix it up – In a large pitcher, combine the cooled hibiscus tea, strawberry puree, lemon juice, and maple syrup. Stir it all together and taste. Want more tartness? Add lemon. Sweeter? Add more maple syrup.
- Serve – Fill glasses with ice, pour in the refresher, and garnish with lemon slices, strawberries, or mint.
Notes
Want bubbles? Top with sparkling water just before serving. Make it a strawberry hibiscus cocktail by adding a shot of vodka or gin. Keeps fresh in the fridge for 2–3 days. Just shake or stir before serving.
